"The most rewarding part of my job is getting to see our clients' faces when they realize all of their hard work has paid off and they can finally retire."
Financial Advisor, RJFS
Mike’s career in the financial industry began in 2005 as office administrator for the partnership while building his own book of business. In this role, he learned valuable operational experience of the securities industry, and met our wonderful clients.
As a young Advisor, Mike feels the “Great Recession” of 2007-2009 was a milestone for his career. While traumatic at the time, looking back, it taught several key lessons that still apply today: to stay humble, remember that things are never as bad or as good as they seem, and that strong client relationships are often just as important as market performance.
Mike has a passion for working with individuals, families and small businesses. His strength is in building a long-term financial roadmap so clients’ can see their hard work and dedication pay off. There are few greater feelings than seeing clients’ joy when they realize lifelong goals and aspirations are becoming a reality. In addition to financial planning and portfolio management, Mike teaches courses with the Nebraska Public Employees Retirement System, helping Nebraska state, county and school employees with their retirement planning goals.
Mike attended the University of Wyoming in Laramie, where he was a member of the National Championship men's rugby team and after college, he played rugby with the Omaha G.O.A.T.S. until he became a father. Mike is an avid Nebraska football, basketball and baseball fan, and enjoys golfing and fishing in his spare time, as well as time with family and friends. He is a member of the Omaha West Rotary Club and a youth leader for his church, working with high school kids and volunteering with community service projects to serve those less fortunate.
Mike holds the 7, 63 and 65 securities licenses as well as the Life and Variable Annuity licenses, and is registered in 9 states.
